Plot – After a disastrous secret mission, FBI agent Art Jeffries has to investigate a nine-year-old autistic child's disappearance. Simon's parents have been mysteriously murdered. Jeffries finds the boy hidden in the closet of his house. Simon is in danger too. When the surveillance is suddenly suspended, Art decides to take the boy with him and runs away. They face further murder's attempts. Art finally discovers the boy has accidentally deciphered a secret military code, the 'Mercury Rising', used on American espionage missions all over the world. Colonel Kudrow, director of the National Security Agency, is chasing them to kill Simon. Art is abandoned by FBI and fights intensely against his own colleagues. In the showdown, Art kills Kudrow and later goes to visit Simon at school.
