Plot – New York - six weeks ago: in a police station, five men are waiting to be interrogated. San Pedro - yesterday night: a stranger kills a crooked cop on a merchant ship. San Pedro - present day: five burned bodies are lined up on the deck of a ship. The case is assigned to Special Agent Kujan and the only trail he has are the half-sentences of one survivor. This detail explains how everything started out six weeks ago: the men at the New York police station were involved in a trap set by an enigmatic criminal mastermind, the elusive Kaiser Soze, whose identity is unknown.
