The revolution burst across the country and destroyed most of the Romanovs. With the help of the boy Dimitri, the empress mother Maria and her grandaughter flee to Paris. However, at the last moment Anastasia cannot join them, she loses her memory and at 18 she finds herself as an orphan named Anya, with a necklace that reads "Together in Paris." Anya wants to discover her identity. Meanwhile, Dimitri is working hard to find a girl who can convince the elderly Maria that Anastasia is still alive. He convinces Anya to pass herself off as Anastasia and together they arrive in Paris where they must persuade the grandmother, who at this point is disappointed after so many failed attempts. Overcoming her initial suspicion, Maria notices the string around the neck of Anya and understands that the true Anastasia has arrived.
