Plot – Emily Eden, a young New York police officer, ignored by her father who is an ex-cop abandoned by his wife, lives a life completely dedicated to her hard and risky detective job, with determination and grit, imperturbable and devoid of any human emotion. Investigating the mysterious disappearance of Yaakov Klausman, she gets in touch with a Hasidic Jewish community, whose members are faithful to the tiniest precepts of their religion and devout lovers of the Cabal. In agreement with the Rabbi and with the support of Ariel, the Rabbi's son and future successor, Eden decides to disguise herself as one of the family, living with them. Leah's sister, Ariel, helps Emily get familiar with the ways of life and customs of the Hasidic, as the detective is convinced that Yaakov was killed by a member of the community.
