“Alaska” quotes
(1996)Plot – Six months after his wife's death, Jack Barnes leaves Chicago and moves with his two teenage children to Quincy, a small town in Alaska. The move is accepted by Jessie but not by Sean, who accuses his father of not thinking about them. Jack is a pilot and one night, during an argument at home, he is called to bring medicine to a neighboring town. While he is flying through the storm, the plane crashes into the wall of a glacier. At base point everyone considers it a fatal accident, but the children do not want to give up and they decide to go in search of their father. They face the rapids of a river, climb mountains and cross glaciers, while the aircraft is still poised on the edge of a precipice. The two children, meanwhile, free a polar bear cub captured by Perry, a poacher who sells bears on the black market. The bear follows in the wake of its rescuers and eventually plays a decisive role, both when helping the father to get out of the aircraft and when giving a lesson to the poacher.
