Plot – Eight people are invited to spend a few days in a villa on a remote island. Once at the house, they learn that their host had to leave. Returning to the mainland is impossible because the boat will not come back for a few days. The guests gather for dinner and at one point the waiter puts a disc on the gramophone. The recording has been made by the villa's owner, who reproaches each of the ten people staying at the villa for crimes that have been kept secret from the rest of the world. They all protest but everyone fears the coming punishment, which soon arrives: one of the guests dies poisoned and the waiter's wife is killed that same night. Everyone thinks that the murderer is one of them and they spy on each other; nonetheless, more sudden and violent deaths follow. The survivors decide to confess their crimes but that does not stop the course of justice.
