Plot – Based on Dr. Oliver Sacks’ book, the movie is about a doctor who tests a revolutionary therapy on people affected by sleeping sickness. The results are extraordinary, but temporary, so his patients fall back into illness. The movie is just one of the other 20 “cases” of the book and, although it is extremely touching, the pitiful shade dismisses the reality. The relationship between the doctor and the assistant is just an expedient for the public’s approval.
