Plot – In the year 3000, Earth is devastated and human beings are in danger of extinction. A millennium earlier, the evil alien people Psychlos swooped down on the planet and canceled Earth's entire defense force. A handful of surviving humans are enslaved and forced to mine minerals used by the invaders, while others are hiding in isolated mountain villages. Terl, the Psychlos' security chief on Earth, is believed to be destined to conquer the whole galaxy. A human hunter, Jonnie Goodboy Tyler, is taken prisoner and put to work in the mines and humanity starts its comeback. Taking advantage of some disagreement between Terl and his deputy Ker, Jonnie organizes an escape with a few companions. They escape but are captured and again Jonnie organizes a rebellion, but then he turns himself into Ter, who responds by having Sammy, one of the rebels, killed. At this point Jonnie starts the second phase of the uprising. After a fierce battle, fought with airplanes and an atomic bomb, Terl is taken prisoner. He tries to save himself, saying that the Psychlos' Mother Planet has been destroyed, but Ker belies him. Terl is locked up in a cage. His power is now finished.
