Plot – This movie is set during the '90s civil war in Sierra Leone. Danny Archer is an ex-mercenary from Zimbabwe and Solomon Vandy is a fisherman from Mende. Both men are African but their stories are very different. Their fates join together when both want to recover a rare pink diamond. Solomon is taken away from his family and he's forced to work in the diamonds mines. When he finds an extraordinary gem, he hides it even if he knows it's a great risk. In fact the diamond not only can save his wife and daughters but it also can help him in rescuing his son Dia from becoming a child-soldier. Archer, who makes his living out of diamonds and arms trading, learns about Solomon's secret stone. The diamond represents the chance of a lifetime for him too as it can help him to leave Africa's violence and corruption in which he has been a willing player.
