Plot – In the streets of South Central Los Angeles anything can happen, even school children returning home can stumble across a corpse that has yet to be removed from where it had been abandoned on the street. Violence is at home and the fights between gangs are rife. Seventeen-year-old Tre has only two friends: the half-brothers Doughboy, a violent drug dealer and ex-con, and Ricky, who would rather run away from the ghetto as soon as possible. When Ricky gets shot for fun, the fight breaks out.
