Plot – Bloomington, a university town in Indiana. Four friends have just finished high school. Now Dave - called Bike because of his unbridled passion for cycling- Mike, Gary and "Small" cannot aspire to go to university because of their social background, so they spend their days swimming, flirting with girls and riding their bikes. Besides, Dave has another passion as he's fond of whatever is Italian. He talks with an Italian accent, his favorite music is the opera, he calls his cat Fellini and he pretends to be an Italian and noble guy with Kathryn. As Dave aspires to race against Italian guys, he finally has an opportunity, but the Italian cyclists play dirty during the contest. This is not Dave's only disappointment as Kathryn has discovered he's not Italian. Dave loses so all his interests, but his father makes him change his mind. Bike and his friends sign up for another contest and win and finally Dave decides to continue his studies despite his social background because he doesn't lose interest in foreign people too.
