Plot – Three passionate young journalists work for a Washington TV network and each of them has his own peculiarities. Jane Craig is not pretty but she is nice, strong-willed, energetic and a brilliant news-producer with uncommon managerial skills. Aaron Altman is a brilliant, precise, well-prepared professional but clumsy when appearing before the public. The third, Tom Grunick, is charming and laid back with colleagues and in front of the cameras, but he is ambitious, opportunistic and lacks cultural background. Among the three intertwine various relationships. Jane is a good friend of Aaron and they have had a good working relationship for a long time; both are professionally dissatisfied, but they share a sense of solidarity and a deep affection. Tom gets in between them, as he is attracted by Jane's extraordinary personality and apparent self-confidence, which he recognizes superior. He begins to court her, but she rejects him even if she feels a strange attraction for him.
