(1992)Plot – The movie is about Charles Chaplin's life. Now he's an old and retired man who lives in his Swiss villa. His life is told through the interview his biographer David Robinson makes him. The movie is integrated with flash-backs and clips from his most famous movies. His mother is a variety actress and she's having her first empties of memory. With spontaneity and inventiveness, Charles covers her with funny and unscheduled sketches. Then he's surrounded by the hardships of a miserable environment. He's present at the first crisis of the woman and later he's forced to intern her. Chaplin faces the showbiz. Thanks to an extraordinary talent, he begins an amazing career. The movie illustrates even unknown backgrounds of his private life, his loves, his marital misadventures, the disappointments until the melancholy retire in Switzerland, still comforted by Oona O'Neil, the love of his life.
