Plot – At Holly Springs, a small town in Mississippi, life goes quite. Jewel Mae Orcutt, called Cookie, is an old woman who lives in a big house full of the memories of her deceased husband Buck whose best friend Willis Richard visits her often. Camille Dixon, Cookie's niece, is preparing a play in which the leading actor is her sister Cora, a not self-sufficient woman. Then Cora's daughter, Emma Duvall, comes to town and she's a quite rebel girl.
