Plot – Young scientist Peyton Westlake is carrying out a successful research about artificial skin. One day his girlfriend Julie Hastings, who's an affirmed lawyer, forgets in his laboratory an extremely incriminating document of a client, then a gang breaks into the lab. The criminals torture the scientist and destroy everything to get that sheet. The entire building is on fire but Peyton survives, even if he's horribly disfigured and unrecognizable. A new, strange anger allows Peyton to come back to his lab and reactivate his researches. He reconstructs his face and meets his beloved Julie again, but the new skin unfortunately dissolves like wax after one hundred minutes. Peyton then becomes Darkman, a violent and vengeful creature who wants to destroy the responsible of his misfortune.
