Plot – In the year 2000 the human race is no longer politically divided but is instead united in one federation, while new nuclear-powered means of transport make interplanetary travel possible. A space cruiser, travelling at the speed of light, goes to Altair-4. In charge of the ship is Commander Adams, who has at his side Lieutenant Farman and Lieutenant Ostrow, the ship's doctor. Twenty years before, a group of explorers headed toward the same planet and was never heard from again. The expedition led by Adams aims to do research and collect any survivors.
