(1993)Plot – Lt. Charles Gatewood is a former Confederate who speaks the Apache language and admires Geronimo, the Indian leader. He's tasked by Brigadier General George Crook to protect him, so Gatewood and Geronimo start a travel together. They neutralize an attack and make friendship, but the truce with the US army is shattered when an Indian sorcerer is killed. Geronimo escapes with some men and forms some groups to pillage and massacre the settlers. Crook is replaced by General Nelson Miles, who secretly asks Gatewood to track down Geronimo and to offer him a honorable surrender. The Indian leader agrees to surrender and he's exiled together with his community, but the US army doesn't keep the promise to release them after two years of detention. Geronimo is imprisoned until death.
