Plot – The movie tells the real story of Tony Lip, an Italian-American bouncer who in 1962 gets hired by one of the most famous jazz pianists in the world, Don Shirley, to work for him on his tour that will take them from new York to the deep South. At a time when the African American population didn’t have any civil rights, Shirley has to defend himself from the danger of racism and racist behaviors. Both characters will end up discovering things about the reality they live in, while building an unexpected bond with each other.
