Plot – The history of the West seen through the eyes of a settler family. One sister marries a solitary hunter, the other one a professional player. The son of the first sister takes part in the Civil War, during which he also saves the life of General Grant. After the war has ended, he becomes the sheriff of a frontier town and contributes to the affirmation of the new American civilization.
