Nevertheless there's no name and Schindler goes in search of the mysterious woman contacting firstly Anna Marie Erdody, a Hungarian noblewoman who had with Ludwig an intense relationship. The second one is Countess Giulia Guicciardi, who loved the pianist when she was 17. In Karlsbaad Schindler meets Johanna van Beethoven, Ludwig's sister-in-law and he thinks she's the woman of the letter. Maybe her son Karl is the fruit of their passion. The woman travels to Vienna to visit Ludwig before it's too late. Despite all those years in fact, their love has remained deep and intact.
