Plot – In America, on the eve of the celebrations for Independence Day, a radio signal gets detected beyond the terrestrial space. The young President Thomas J. Whitmore announces on television that extraterrestrial beings have been spotted all over the world and the message causes panic. The President, on the advice of the director of external relations Constance Spano, meets an electronic researcher, David Levinson, Constance’s ex-husband. He claims to have discovered that the aliens have taken possession of the American satellites and that they are using them against humanity.
