Plot – Prot has been committed into a psychiatric clinic because unjustly charged with assault. He believes he is an alien from the planet K-Pax and must return home before the end of summer. In the clinic Prot meets Dr. Mark Powell, a psychiatrist who initially is convinced that Prot suffers from personality disorders. Over time the doctor begins to doubt his analysis and things get even more intriguing when Prot's claims are examined by a team of sceptical astronomers, who are puzzled by his knowledge.
