Plot – Max Brackett, a respectable television reporter, refused to show the mutilated bodies of the victims of a plane crash and his boss Kevin has moved him from the national channel to a local station in Madeline, California. One morning, Max and his assistant Laurie go to the natural history museum to interview the director Mrs. Banks. They arrive just when Sam, a former museum employee who has been fired due to budget cuts, has returned to the museum to ask for the revocation of his dismissal in the name of his wife and two sons. However, the lady is adamant and then Sam suddenly pulls out a gun. Hidden in the bathroom, Max witnesses the scene and realizes that if he plays his cards right, this could be the opportunity he has been waiting for to get back into the big league. He begins to report what is happening and goes live nationally. Then Max and Sam end up getting to know each other and, little by little, to understand what previously divided them and what now unites them.
