Plot – In October 1962, the citizens from Key West are terrified by the anti-American missiles installed in Cuba. Gene and Dennis Ingram fear for the father’s life, who is a Marine in the naval unit against Cuba. A friend of Gene, Stan, introduces him to Sherry to distract him. Sherry’s ex-boyfriend, Harvey, is in reformatory because of a robbery. In the meantime, a low-budget horror movie’s producer, Lawrence Woolsey, presents his latest film: ‘Mant’, the story of a crossbreeding between an ant and a man. He uses two actors to advertise the film. Gene, who is a horror movies’ expert, recognizes them and gains the opportunity to collaborate to the film screening in return for his silence. Sherry’s ex-boyfriend, Harvey, suddenly arrives in town, becoming the special effects’ helper and dressing up as the ant-man. During the screening, the boy bumps into Sherry and Stan while they are making out. Harvey robs the income and tries to escape with Sherry, but he gets caught. In the meantime, Gene saves his brother, who was stuck underneath the rubbles of the cinema. While Woolsey celebrates the film’s success, the television announces that the danger of a nuclear war is over.
All actors – John Goodman, Cathy Moriarty, Simon Fenton, Omri Katz, Lisa Jakub, Kellie Martin, Jesse Lee Soffer, Lucinda Jenney, James Villemaire, Robert Picardo, Jesse White, Dick Miller
