Plot – A young biochemist, Rae Crane suddenly arrives in the South American jungle. She is there on behalf of a pharmaceutical foundation to verify the research of Dr. Robert Campbell, a 60-year-old scientist who has been living in the Amazon rain forest for many years and who keeps the results of a drug that can cure cancer. Crane, greeted by Campbell with disdainful irony, turns out to be a scholar of unquestionable competence and a woman daring enough to transform Campbell's initial rude attitude into admiration and affection. Together they carry out research to test the formula of a drug that has healed many local Indians and they realize that unscrupulous profit-hungry exploiters are destroying the Amazon rain forest and creating severe damage, especially for the unaware natives that live there. Campbell and Crane decide to move even further into the jungle to continue their research and, at the same time, save the natives from extinction.

- Dr. Robert Campbell: What don't you understand? I found the cure for the fucking plague of the twentieth century and now I've lost it. Haven't you ever lost anything doctor Bronx? Your purse? Your car keys? Well, it's rather like that: Now you have it and now you don't.”“- Dr. Rae Crane: Closing your eyes won't make it disapear.
