Plot – In a provincial town in the deep south of the United States, Hank is a white prison guard who leads a black man to execution in the penitentiary. Hank's son Sonny is a prison guard too, but he cannot manage the tension and the conflict between his father and his grandfather as they have racist and dull ideals. Sonny commits suicide, meanwhile Leticia, the sentenced's beautiful wife, tries to overcome some difficulties with Lawrence, her teenage obese son. Lawrence is hit by a hit-and-run driver and dies. Hank assists to his death and decides to take care of Leticia.
