Plot – Harry Sultenfuss is a widower since 1961, the year in which the little Vera was born and when his wife died giving birth. Harry is a funeral director, he loves his 11-year-old daughter and doesn’t want to marry again. Vera is a bit weird, she is in love with one of her teachers and her only friend is the shy and bespectacled Thomas. Moreover, Vera takes too seriously her dad’s customers diseases and she is very jealous of him so, when Harry begins to know Shelly better, she’s not very happy. The plot is a good coming-of-age story.
