Plot – Frank Drebin, a clumsy police lieutenant in marital crisis with Jane Spencer, is now retired and enthusiastically dedicates himself to household chores. His boss Ed Hocken convinces him to return to action because of the threat of an Arab terrorist attack. Infiltrated in Statesville prison, Frank gains the trust of Rocco, a terrorist, and escapes with him. Reached by Jane, who suspects he has an affair with Rocco's woman, Frank pretends to take her as hostage to save her life. Meanwhile Rocco replaces one of the numerous Academy Awards with a bomb and to neutralize the terrorist's plan Frank has to take part at the ceremony. After a series of incredible setbacks, Rocco is sent to the air in the helicopter of his Arab mates and explodes with it. Frank reconciles with his beloved wife and receives the public and colleagues' compliments.
