Plot – This movie is composed of three stories. Life Lessons - New York painter Lionel Dobie is preparing an important exhibition, but his student and lover Paulette threatens to leave him as she's not a good painter and would like to come back home. After some quarrels, Paulette leaves Lionel once and for all. He's sad at first but soon he meets another young lover. Oedipus Wreck - Sheldon Mills is a Jew lawyer who lives in New York. He's fifty but he lives with his mother. She's terrible because she treats him like a child. As he wants to marry a non-Jewish woman, his mother is very disappointed. During the performance of a magician, she disappears and Sheldon can live quietly for a few days with his lover, until the oppressive parent reappears. The girl can't stand the situation anymore and breaks the engagement. Sheldon's mother comes back home, then the man meets another woman, who knows how to gain her future mother-in-law's favour. Life Without Zoe - Zoe is twelve-years-old and lives in a luxurious New York hotel alone because her parents travel constantly and neglect her. Her father Claudio is a famous and charming flute player, while her mother Charlotte travels the world due to her busy schedule. Zoe makes friendship with the son of a wealthy sheik and is involved in an adventure. She cleverly manages to avoid her father's scandal and many other troubles.
