Plot – A small group of extremists, armed to the teeth and meticulously trained, carries out an audacious ambush in broad daylight at the White House, taking President Benjamin Asher and his staff hostage, holding them in the underground presidential bunker. Their goal is to attack the US with its own weapons and put the entire nations in check. In the midst of a pitched battle on the White House lawn, the former head of presidential security Mike Banning joins the fray and discovers that he is the only member of the Secret Service still alive in the building under siege. Banning uses his preparation and detailed knowledge of the presidential residence to become the eyes and ears of Vice President Allan Trumbull and his advisers. The moment the invaders begin to execute the hostages and threaten to kill many more if their demands are not met, Banning seeks to find the president's young son, who is hidden somewhere inside the building, and to save the President before the terrorists can implement their plan. When the number of victims increases and time is running out, it becomes clear that Banning is the only hope the US has to avoid catastrophe.
