Plot – Paul and Hannah, now a middle-aged couple, have been fighting for a while over an alleged affair that he is supposed to have had years earlier. Memories and resentments alternate between pain, nostalgia and regrets. Meanwhile in a hotel, Gracie meets a man with whom she is having an affair: he would like for them to meet more often, but she is strongly against it. Meredith, a theater director, after several bad experiences refuses to date again, but then she finds herself surrendering under the insistence of the witty and convincing Trent. At the Disco Joan, a beautiful and exuberant young woman, breaks up with a guy over the phone and immediately afterwards she meets Keenan, to whom she is attracted but who refuses to date anyone. Hugh hangs around bars and restaurants all night long: he approaches different women and tells them different terrifying stories about his private life. Young Mark is dying of AIDS assisted by his mother who, through her tears, is trying to alleviate his suffering.
