Plot – Lilah is a stressed housewife with a husband, three children and a home to look after. She attempts to start a career for herself reciting comic monologues in a New York club. While her husband opposes her passion, Lilah finds understanding and affection in Steven Gold, a young man who has arrived in New York to study medicine and instead has become a stand-up comedian with an innate talent for gags. Steve slowly teaches Lilah the profession and then falls in love with her. However, the woman is in love with her husband and rejects him.
