Plot – One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is a 1975 American psychological comedy drama film based on the 1962 novel of the same name. The movie follows Randle McMurphy, a convict serving time for statutory rape who pleads insanity to avoid labour duties in prison. Believing its all an act, the authorities send him to a mental institution where he will forego psychiatric evaluation. He tries to liven the place up a bit by playing card games and basketball with his fellow inmates, but the head nurse Mildred Ratched, a cold, passive-aggressive tyrant, is after him at every turn.
