Plot – Philippe Douvier is a member of the Parisian Mafia who hides himself under the identity of a popular industrialist. Recently, the Mafia’s actions haven’t been as successful as he desired, so the bosses from New York - Scallini and Marchione - decide to eliminate him. To avoid that, Douvier decides to kill the inspector of the Surété, Jacques Clouseau. The clumsy policeman saves himself from an assassination attempt during which the criminal Claude Rousseau dies, so he can live freely because the Mafia members believe him to be dead.
