“Rhinestone” quotes
(1984)Plot – In a NY typical western style bar, the beautiful and talented singer Jake performs, but she would resign as her boss Freddie courts her in a suffocating way. The girl makes a bet with him: if she will turn an ordinary person into a great singer, the contract will finish, otherwise Jake will keep working for him accepting his court. Freddie accepts and Jake chooses Nick, a reckless Italian-American driver who can't read music. The task is difficult, but Jake doesn't discourage despite Nick's little enthusiasm. The girl brings him to Tennessee where, after some scuffles with her former lover, with the help of her father and other friends, she finally makes him an almost perfect "country" singer. Now Nick loves music and thinks to be a great singer. Jake dissuades him and eventually they have a fight. The story ends with the triumph of Nick in front of a frenzy audience and Jake realizes she loves him and she's reciprocated. Most of all she's finally free from the contract with Freddie.
All actors – Sylvester Stallone, Dolly Parton, Richard Farnsworth, Ron Leibman, Tim Thomerson, Steve Peck, Penny Santon, Russell Buchanan, Ritch Brinkley, Jerry Potter, Jesse Welles, Phil Rubenstein
