Plot – During the summer of 1966 in Hell's Kitchen, four boys - Lorenzo, nicknamed Shakes, Michael, John and Tommy - pull a stunt against a Greek hotdog vendor, almost causing the death of an elderly man at the metro's exit. Sentenced to 18 months of reformatory, the boys are subjected to terrible physical and psychological violence by some of the prison officers, among whom are the sadists Nokes and Ferguson. A rugby match, surprisingly won by the boys, leads to more violence from the guards and the death of Rizzi, the black charismatic leader of the prisoners. Father Bobby Carillo, visiting the boys, tries to comfort Leonardo. Unfortunately, before leaving the reformatory, he and his friends undergo a last night of excruciating torture. Years later, in 1981, Tommy and John, who in the meanwhile have become gangsters and killers, discover Nokes having lunch in a Hell's Kitchen pub.
