Plot – In Atlantic City there's a boxing match for the heavyweight champion and Rick Santoro, a policeman used to unclean behaviors, meets Kevin Dunne, a longtime friend now a Navy officer at the Ministry of Defence. In a moment of distraction, the minister is assassinated, the match is suspended and the area is closed. Rick investigates while Dunne thinks the accident could obstacle his career. Rick focuses on three witnesses: Julia Costello, the woman who has spoken with the minister immediately before the murder, Lincoln Tyler, the boxer who has lost the match, and Kevin Dunne himself who has moved from his seat a few moments before the gunshot. Each character is interrogated and every interview unveils a new clue. Rick must eventually surrender to the fact that there's a plot behind the murder and that Kevin was leading the operation. While he's arrested, Rick faces his lost friend and his own situation too: he himself has participated in the past to corrupted plots, so he decides to undergo his sentence.
