“Superman and the Mole-Men” quotes
(1951)Plot – Mild-mannered reporter Clark Kent and Lois Lane are sent to the small town of Silsby for the inauguration of the world's deepest oil well. The drill shaft has penetrated to the underground home of the "Mole Men", a race of small, furry, though bald-headed humanoids. The Mole Men come up through the shaft at night, and when the creatures first emerge on the surface, their sudden appearance scares to death the inhabitants of the town. Immediately, the residents, directed by the violent Luke Benson, form an angry mob in order to kill the "monsters". Superman is the only one able to resolve the conflict, stopping Benson and the mob. The creatures return to the well head to save one of their own, which was wounded during the fight. The Mole Men are equipped with laser weapons and want to kill Benson, but Superman saves his life. After fetching the wounded creature, they return to the deep underground and destroy the drill shaft, making sure that no one can enter or exit the well again.
