Plot – Young Todd Howard is a university freshman: he is very gifted in science but, since he is the beneficiary of a scholarship for sports activities, the principal, who wants to win Institute regional boxing championship, decides to have him trained in this sport. Todd begins training under the guidance of an eccentric coach, but is suffering from a big problem, an anomaly inherited from his parents: wolf hair and claws occasionally sprout and, in those moments, an incredible force enters his body. At first mocked by his classmates (the first transformation happens during a party) - except for bespectacled Nicki, who has taken a liking on him - soon he makes a name for himself and is nickednamed "the wolf". He gets a bit big-headed, and he is about to give up his biology studies, but Nicki saves him at the last minute, studying with him the night before the last exam and helping him get through this test with Professor Brooks. Todd then must participate in the big fight, where he has to challenge the current champion. While Todd is about to give way under the hail of his opponent's punches, the "other" - the wolf - tries to come out, but with his own strength Todd resoundingly beats the champion and is carried in triumph by all companions.
