Plot – The young Father O'Malley is invited to the parish of Santa Maria, where there is a school run by a group of kind but incompetent nuns. O'Malley decides to straighten things up and he also persuades a millionaire to make over one of his buildings to the parish and help a family of artists to get back together. After the initial conflicts, even the Mother Superior, Sister Mary Benedict, starts helping the man until she contracts tuberculosis.
