Plot – On 21 October 1994 three students, Heather Donahue, Joshua Leonard and Michael Williams, venture into the woods of Black Forrest Hill, Maryland. They are making a documentary about Elly Kedward, accused of witchcraft and driven from the city of Blair at the end of 1700, and whose evil presence, according to an urban legend, has hovered in the woods since then. The three begin to follow a precise path but soon get confused by the tangled undergrowth. In short they get lost, they start to reprimand each other on who had the idea of the project, feeling the pressure of increasing logistical difficulties. They see stones grouped in the shape of a cross, hear strange howling, loose each other, get together again and still cannot figure out which way to go. When the night comes again, a terrified Heather turns to the camera, which is recording everything, apologizes to her parents and then disappears into the darkness.
