Plot – In the fall of 1956 professional photographer Robert Kincaid is in Madison County, Iowa, to shoot a story on the famous covered bridges. There he meets Francesca Johnson, who is married and has two children, but who is alone at home four days a week. This is the brief but intense period of time in which their passion explodes and is consumed. Four days that must last them a lifetime and that must redeem them, giving them the possibility to recover their capacity to love, to choose, to feel, to help each other, things that especially Francesca seemed to have lost.
