Plot – During the 20s in Georgia there's still a pro-slavery and racist mentality. Celie, a teenager, is raped by the man who's supposed to be her husband. Her children are taken away and she's sold to another man, who is even more brutal than the first one and harasses Celie's sister Nettie, who rejects him firmly. When Nettie is kicked out, Celie accepts her life as a slave. Only many years later she'll be able to see her children and sister again.
