Plot – In 1984 the most sophisticated atomic submarine of the USSR, Red October, sets out for a mission whose reasons the Americans do not understand, until CIA agent Jack Ryan guesses that captain Ramius of Red October intends to defect and deliver the submarine to the Americans. The Russians have also guessed the captain’s plan and they start tracking down Red October in order to destroy it. Ryan manages to descend from an helicopter onto the American submarine Dallas of captain Bart Mancuso, and the chase begins. Nonetheless, Ramius is too clever to get caught.
