Plot – Every mother craves for the love of her daughter and hopes to not have understanding barriers in their relationship. On the other hand, every child craves to win her mother's love and approval. The story of these four extraordinary women comes on screen from the novel by Amy Tan: their existance, full of love, tragedy, wealth and magic, is always supported by the hopes and dreams that they have towards their daughters. June is influenced by her mother Suyuan but the two cannot communicate. When Suyuan passes away, June takes her place in "The Joy Luck Club". Waverly is Lindo's daughter: they can't communicate as well and this causes misinterpretations between them. Rose marries a handsome and rich man, denying her roots and identity. Lena is Ying Ying's daughter whose life in China has left her in depression and anxiety.
