Plot – During the nineteenth century, Siam is still a set back country ruled by a despot king, who's also open-minded and encourages the spread of Western culture. When he learns an English lady, Anna Lenowens, is looking for a teaching position, the king offers her to educate his children. The woman is strong and independent and isn't willing to accept orders, but the king himself isn't accustomed to be disobeyed. The two in fact argue often but the young teacher is loved by her students. Time passes by and Anna's prestige increases and the English lady becomes the personal adviser of the king. When he dies, Anna is entrusted the eldest son and the fate of the entire nation.
