Plot – In 1757, during the bloody Anglo-French war in the American colonies, some Indian tribes are allied to the British and others to the French. In an impenetrable forest, close to the conflict zone, three men are hunting a deer: Chingachgook, former tribal chief, his son Uncas - the last two survivors of the Mohicans - and a young white boy, Hawkeye, adopted as a child by the chief when his family was killed. Hawkeye lives and dresses like the Indians and acts as their interpreter with the British settlers. His fate is marked by a chance meeting with the young daughters of Colonel Munro, Cora and Alice, and with Major Duncan Heyward, who has been betrayed by his cruel Huron guide Magua and surprised by the Mohawk tribe.
