Plot – Milagro is a small town in New Mexico mainly inhabited by Chicanos, Mexican immigrants. Ladd Devine, a wealthy American tycoon, wants to build there a big residential complex, so all the citizens have to go away. Joe Mondragon is a poor peasant with a large family to support and refuses to abandon his fields. Other farmers stand on his side. During a shootout he accidentally hurts a man, so Devine has now finally an excuse to expel him.
