Plot – Ben Harper has committed a murder for 10,000 dollars. He has hidden the sum and has asked his sons John and Pearl to keep the secret with their mother Willa too. While Ben is in prison, he makes friendship with his cellmate, called the "Reverend", who tries in vain to make Ben reveal him the hiding place. When the Reverend is released, he goes to Harper's and conquers Willa, then he marries her. When she realizes her new husband's real identity, the criminal kills her. Now the Reverend has to face John and Pearl to take possession of the 10,000 dollars.
