Plot – Catherine follows her husband Walter Fane to China. He's a doctor but he's too absorbed by his studies to stay with her, so she spends her time along with an officer of the Embassy, falling for him. Fane discovers her and agrees to divorce if the young diplomat will marry Catherine. The officer refuses and Catherine is forced to follow her husband, learning to love him again.
